JECDB Web site is a 2009 LinkTenn Award Winner!
The JECDB web site won the 2009 LinkTenn Award at the State of Tennessee 56th Annual Governor's Conference that was held in September. The State of Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development recognizes those organizations that have achieved outstanding economic development marketing through the use of the internet. Communities are evaluated and often eliminated for new projects based solely on their web site.
Criteria for the award included search engine ranking, availability of downloadable documents and data, effective branding, ease of navigation, interactivity with users, valuable use of maps and overall appearance. |

A manufacturing company that has been located in Lebanon for almost a decade publicly announced that it will build a new $12 million plant here and nearly double its existing payroll within the next five years.
Darin Lowery, the local general manager of Permobil, Inc., a Swedish-based company that manufactures high-end electric wheelchairs, told members of Lebanon's Morning Rotary that his company plans to build a new manufacturing plant here this year and be in that plant by the summer of 2010.

Paddocks Center Ribbon Cutting |

The Paddocks Shopping Center ribbon cutting will be held June 18th in Mt. Juliet. This 900,000 sf shopping center located just north of Providence MarketPlace, near Interstate 40 will be anchored by Lowe's Home Improvement and Wal-Mart. Lowe's has a target opening date of July while Wal-Mart is set to open in December. Additional stores slated for the new center include U.S. Bank, Hardee's, Starbucks, Sally Beauty Supply, Dollar Store and National Women's Apparel. Atlanta-based, The Gipson Company developed this $80 million project.

Nissan Moving Into Wilson County |

Nissan North America has plans to consolidate its parts distribution operation and move into a massive warehouse in Wilson County.
The Japanese automaker has submitted site plans to the Wilson County Planning Office for use of a 717,000 square-foot warehouse in the Couchville Pike Business Center, with the option to expand another half-million square feet. Ultimately, the facility could be 1.2 million square-feet.
Currently, the company operates two similar facilities in neighboring Rutherford County and is looking to merge them.
They are transferring 38 employees and have 88 third-party logistic employees. There is potential for additional employees. The building plan has to clear a few additional hurdles with the county Planning Commission and it's unclear when the new Nissan operation will be up and running in Wilson County |

Developers and representatives of Bel Air at Beckwith, plan for the 500-plus acre development off the Beckwith Road interchange of Interstate 40, to be like Providence...only bigger.
The property is unique in that it encompasses parts of three planning and zoning jurisdictions - the Cities of Mt. Juliet and Lebanon and Wilson County. It is bounded by Interstate 40 on the north, Beckwith Road on the west, South Posey Hill Road on the east and Posey Hill Road on the south.
